Not exactly. Most budgeting apps focus on tracking what you've already spent. Financial Foresight is more about looking forward. It helps you model different scenarios, compare options, and build a plan for big decisions. Once you have a plan, you can also track your spending against it.

Do I need a financial advisor to use this?

No. Financial Foresight is designed for people who want to think through their own decisions. The tool gives you structure, projections, and clear comparisons so you can figure things out on your own terms. If you do work with an advisor, it can be a great companion for those conversations.

Will you tell me what I should do with my money?

No. Financial Foresight doesn't give financial advice or recommend products, investments, or specific actions. What it does is show you the numbers and tradeoffs clearly so you can make your own informed decisions.

How is this different from apps that only track my spending?

Accepted Answer

Spending trackers look backward and show you where your money went. Financial Foresight looks forward. It helps you ask "what if" questions about the future, compare different paths, and turn the best one into a plan. Think of it less as a ledger and more as a planning tool.

What happens if the company becomes financially unsustainable?

We'll never sell this company. If Financial Foresight ever reaches that point, we'll release the source code and allow users to export their data so they can host the application themselves. No acquisition, no handoff, no one left stranded. There's no dollar amount that would change this.

Can I use this if I'm just getting started and don't know much about finance?

Yes. Financial Foresight is built for everyone. Everything is explained in plain language, and the tool walks you through the process step by step. You don't need any special knowledge to get started.

You can model a wide range of financial decisions: compare mortgage options and home prices, build what-if scenarios with different assumptions, track debt payoff strategies, set savings and financial goals with milestones, project your net worth over time, and plan for early retirement with our Coast FIRE calculator. Yes. The free plan gives you access to basic planning and comparison tools at no cost, forever. You can upgrade later if you need more detailed scenarios or advanced tracking, but there's no pressure to do so.

Can financial advisors use this with their clients?

Accepted Answer

Right now, advisors can use Financial Foresight individually for their own planning and client conversations. We're working on a dedicated Business tier with multi-client dashboards, white-label reports, and collaboration tools.
