Privacy Policy
Your data belongs
to you. Period.
Financial Foresight was built to help you understand your financial life. We cannot do that honestly while treating your data as a product, so we don't.
No data sales
Your data will never be sold, rented, traded, or monetized. We work with a small number of service providers to run the product. Each is listed explicitly on this page.
No tracking or profiling
We don't use tracking cookies, behavioral analytics, or any form of user profiling. We don't serve targeted advertisements.
You own your data
You're the full owner of your data, always. Export it or permanently delete it at any time.
What we collect
Only what you explicitly provide.
We collect what you explicitly provide: financial data you enter, goals you set, and scenarios you build. Nothing is inferred, scraped, or collected beyond what is required to run the application.
Bank account connections go through encrypted APIs with direct institution handshakes. We will never see or store your banking credentials, and the standards on this page will apply to any integration we add.
How your data is used
Solely to power the product you use.
Your data is used solely to:
- Run the core features of the application
- Give you an accurate picture of your financial position
- Support the decisions you are trying to make
Your data will never be:
- Sold, rented, traded, or monetized in any form
- Used for advertising or profiling of any kind
- Shared with any party beyond the service providers named on this page. Those providers are contractually restricted to the specific role we hired them for
- Used to serve targeted advertisements or personalized marketing
Partnerships
Partner deals, never partner data.
We may work with partners to surface relevant introductions, offers, and deals inside the app. This includes financial advisors, firms, and occasionally other services we believe could benefit our users. Partners provide value to you. We do not share your data with them in return.
A partner only learns you exist when you choose to engage, such as claiming an offer, booking a consultation, or contacting them directly. Until then, you are anonymous to them. The decision to take that step is yours alone.
No partner receives your financial data, account activity, plans, or identity. Not anonymized, not aggregated, not in any form. We also do not tell partners who viewed a promotion, who clicked on it, or who matched any targeting criteria. Any targeting we do happens inside our own systems such as exclusive offers from local businesses.
Promotions are clearly labeled. We only run partnerships whose offer we would recommend on its own merits. If a deal is not a good one for users, we do not run it, regardless of what the partner is willing to pay.
Service providers
Exactly who we share data with, and why.
We use a small number of third-party services to run Financial Foresight. None receive your financial data or anything you enter into the app. Each has a specific, limited role and is contractually restricted to that role.
The complete list:
Resend: Email delivery
Receives: Your email address and the body of transactional emails we send on your behalf: account confirmation, password reset, security alerts, two-factor codes, account deletion notices, and so on.
Does not receive: Any financial data, balances, goals, budgets, etc.
Stripe: Payments, subscriptions, and bank account linking
Receives: Your email address, payment method details, and subscription status. If you choose to link a bank account, that connection is handled entirely through Stripe Financial Connections. The authentication flow happens directly between you and your bank via Stripe. We receive only the resulting access token and the account data you explicitly authorize to grant Stripe.
Does not receive: Your banking credentials. We (and Stripe) never see, handle, or store your username, password, or any credentials used to authenticate with your bank.
BetterStack: Error monitoring
Receives: Production server error logs only: the failing endpoint, HTTP status, a technical error description, and occasionally an internal account ID.
Does not receive: Passwords, email addresses, financial data, transaction details or any other sensitive/identifying information.
Third-party browser assets
Things your browser loads directly.
Some features, such as maps, load assets like tiles and fonts directly from third-party CDNs. Those providers can see the HTTP request your browser makes, including your IP address, by the nature of how the web works. They do not receive anything from our servers or about your account.
This is the same category as a font CDN or a JavaScript library served from a public host. If this matters to you, a content blocker at the browser level will prevent those requests.
Our ethical position
Our commitment to your privacy.
Financial Foresight exists to give people a clearer picture of their finances. Monetizing user data contradicts that purpose, and we will not do it.
We will not entertain requests for access to user data. This is not a position that changes based on offer size or outside pressure.
What if the company goes under?
Code release before dissolution.
If Financial Foresight ever reaches a point where revenue cannot sustain operations, we will not sell the company to keep it alive. There is no offer that would change this.
Instead of shutting down and leaving users stranded, we will release the source code for our applications so the community can continue using them. Users will have time to export their data so they can host the application themselves.
The license will ensure no one can impersonate Financial Foresight or pass themselves off as the original company. Our users get continuity.
After the release, we will permanently delete all user data. Your data does not get transferred, sold as an asset, or absorbed into another company.
