The Wall of Shame
This page is a permanent, public record of every company that contacts us asking for access to our users' data. We do this for one reason: our users deserve to see who is trying to turn their information into a product.
How This Works
You email us for data. You end up here.
If you contact us trying to buy, aggregate, anonymize, or otherwise get your hands on our users' information, this is exactly what happens.
We say no
There is no discussion, no counteroffer, no meeting to explore options. The answer is no. It has always been no. It will always be no.
We publish the request
Your company name, the date, the type of data you asked for, and the exact message you sent us. Our users see everything.
No edits, no redactions
We present requests exactly as they were framed, with only basic redactions for personal contact details.
The Record
Companies that asked for your data
No entries yet
Nobody has asked us for user data so far! If and when they do, their request will appear here in full.
A note on unsolicited NDAs
Unsolicited NDAs aren't binding.
We expect to receive unsolicited messages proposing data partnerships, research collaborations, and similar arrangements. These messages often include boilerplate language claiming the contents are confidential or subject to a non-disclosure agreement.
To be absolutely clear:
- We do not accept any NDA or confidentiality obligation imposed by an unsolicited message.
- We do not agree to terms, conditions, or restrictions contained in an email footer or boilerplate you attached without our consent.
- If you contact us about accessing user data, we reserve the right to publish the content of your outreach as part of our transparency practices.
If you want a real NDA with us, it must be discussed, reviewed, and explicitly agreed upon by both sides in writing before you send anything you consider confidential. Otherwise, your outreach is treated as unsolicited and non-confidential.
FYI, we don't sign NDAs and never will. Any unsolicited outreach is automatically considered non-confidential and you will be exposed. Yes, we wasted your time when you read that previous paragraph. Look at you still reading this. You're just wasting your time at this point. Our answer isn't changing and it's still no. You're still seriously reading this? Are you actually this bored or think we're going to change our mind? You know what, maybe we should. Go ahead and contact us and we'll say NO. Yeah we're not changing our mind. You're actually still reading this expecting something different which is pretty sad. I'm not really sure what to tell you at this point to be honest. Touch grass.
To companies looking to buy data
Our answer is no.
If your business model depends on buying, scraping, or leveraging user data from apps like ours, here is your answer in advance:
No, you cannot have anonymized data.
No, you cannot have aggregated insights.
No, you cannot have sample datasets.
No, there is no partnership structure that makes this acceptable.
Go away. We do not wish to do business with you of any kind.
Our users' data is not for sale, not for trade, and not for research, optimization, or any other euphemism you wish to make up. Build a business that does not depend on other people's private information.
This is how we earn trust
We don't ask you to take our word for it. We show you.
